Independent profile snapshot

This extended snapshot summarises how the provider presents itself in the UK market. It supplements the dataset-led summary above.

Virtual1 is a UK wholesale-only carrier network that operated one of the country's largest business-grade fibre networks and is now part of PlatformX Communications (PXC), the wholesale division of the TalkTalk group following TalkTalk's acquisition of Virtual1 in 2022. Services span dedicated Ethernet access, MPLS, VPLS, leased lines from 10Mbps to 10Gbps, EFM, EoFTTC, broadband (FTTC and ADSL), cloud infrastructure (1Cloud IaaS), co-location and network monitoring, all delivered over a fully software-defined network covering 180+ UK towns and cities. Virtual1 pioneered the 1Portal self-service platform and suite of APIs that allow channel partners to quote, order and flex bandwidth on demand in real time. The company partnered with Juniper Networks for its routing platform and integrated directly with Openreach for Ethernet ordering. Under the PXC banner, the combined group now serves the UK's fastest-growing independent wholesale telecoms channel with a 99.995% availability core network.
