Independent profile snapshot

This extended snapshot summarises how the provider presents itself in the UK market. It supplements the dataset-led summary above.

Airband is a UK rural broadband altnet operator founded in 2009 and headquartered in Droitwich, Worcestershire, specialising in connecting communities overlooked by large incumbents. Backed by investor abrdn with over £200 million of investment, Airband's network now spans more than 440,000 premises across over 200 communities in seven counties (Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Devon, Somerset, Oxfordshire and Cheshire), broken down into approximately 175,000 Ready-for-Service FTTP and 265,000 fixed wireless access (FWA) premises. Services include full fibre (FTTP) delivering symmetrical speeds up to 900Mbps, AirSpeed fixed wireless broadband using Tarana next-gen technology (up to 1Gbps), SoGEA, 4G broadband, and Airband Talk VoIP phone services. In October 2025 Airband expanded by reselling Openreach FTTP for off-net customers via its website. Customers benefit from Wi-Fi 6 routers included, no mid-contract price rises, 24-month contracts and proactive network monitoring, with around 30,000 live customers expected by end of 2025.
