About SSE Broadband

SSE Broadband was a UK residential broadband and phone service originally launched by SSE plc around 2008 under the Scottish Hydro Broadband (Scotland) and Southern Electric Broadband (England) brands, later consolidated as SSE Broadband in the mid-2010s. When SSE sold its energy services arm to OVO Energy in 2020, the broadband business transferred to OVO (S) Retail Telecoms Limited. In August 2022, OVO sold the broadband customer base to TalkTalk Group (Tosca IOM Finco Limited), and the transition completed by April 2023. The SSE Broadband brand is no longer active.
